Eldik Bank Participates in SCO Interbank Consortium International Symposium in India

From 8 to 10 October 2026, an international symposium on financing infrastructure projects in Central Asia was held in Mumbai, India, as part of the activities of the Interbank Consortium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). The event was organised by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), an Indian state-owned financial institution.

The symposium was held to a high standard of organisation and brought together representatives of leading financial institutions, development banks and government bodies, including the Ministry of External Affairs of India, as well as members of the investment and business communities of SCO member states.

The symposium was opened by Syed Ata Hasnain, Governor of the Indian state of Bihar and a retired Lieutenant General. Representatives of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the SCO Secretariat and IIFCL’s senior management also participated in the plenary session, highlighting the event’s importance in strengthening regional economic and investment cooperation.

The discussions focused on five priority areas: transport infrastructure and regional connectivity, the transition to green energy, healthcare infrastructure, agriculture and food infrastructure, and tourism development.

OJSC Eldik Bank presented its experience and approaches to the Green Energy Transition. The Bank also participated in discussions on creditworthiness assessment mechanisms in SCO member states and the prospects for establishing a regional SCO credit rating mechanism.

In addition, representatives of Eldik Bank took part in the SCO Asian Economic Dialogue, which focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation, industrial collaboration and cross-border investment partnerships among countries in the region.

A key focus of the symposium was strengthening cooperation between India and Central Asian countries, fostering direct engagement among financial institutions and the public and private sectors, and moving from discussions of potential opportunities towards concrete joint initiatives and the implementation of investment projects.

The event also featured bilateral meetings, including a meeting between IIFCL and Eldik Bank, aimed at strengthening partnership relations and identifying opportunities for further practical cooperation.
