Eldik Bank received an international award for its contribution to the development of a green economy!
On June 26, 2025, in Minsk, during the IV Eurasian Economic Forum, OJSC "Eldik Bank" was honored with a prestigious award following the results of the international climate competition “Green Eurasia”, taking 2nd place in the category “Best practices in public and corporate governance and financing of climate-related projects.”
The award was presented by Sultan Akhmatov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, who highlighted Eldik Bank’s significant contribution to advancing environmental initiatives and supporting sustainable development.
As part of the submitted project, Eldik Bank financed the construction of small hydropower plants (SHPs) in regions facing acute electricity shortages. For instance, in Batken region, the SHP is expected to generate over 540 kWh per year, meeting the needs of more than 2,000 households, reducing energy loss in transmission, and lowering carbon emissions. In Chui region, a new SHP will reduce the region’s dependency on imported electricity by 1–2%. The implementation of these projects will also create over 200 jobs during construction and operation.
These initiatives represent a contribution not only to Kyrgyzstan’s energy security, but also to its environmental future, aligned with the principles of sustainable development. Eldik Bank continues to systematically implement its ESG strategy, supporting green economy efforts, environmental projects, and promoting corporate responsibility toward society and nature.
