Eldik Bank Presented Its Accreditation Experience and the Role of the Banking Sector in Attracting Climate Investments at the Green Climate Fund Regional Dialogue

On 6–8 October 2026, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) held a Regional Dialogue in Tbilisi for Eastern European, Central Asian and Caucasus countries. The event brought together representatives of the GCF, international organisations, financial institutions and national organisations to discuss access to climate finance.

Eldik Bank participated in the dialogue as an accredited direct access entity to GCF resources. This status enables the Bank to submit projects directly to the Fund for consideration and creates opportunities to attract long-term concessional financing for green and energy-efficient projects in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Aidzhan Karieva, Member of the Bank’s Management Board, shared the Bank’s experience in completing the accreditation process, preparing a concept note and developing a funding proposal. In her remarks, she highlighted the role of banks in attracting climate investments and translating international financial resources into practical solutions for businesses and the public.

Cooperation with the GCF creates opportunities for Eldik Bank to expand access to financing for businesses and households seeking to adopt energy-efficient technologies, clean heating systems and electric transport. Long-term concessional funding can make such investments more affordable and support the country’s transition towards a more sustainable economy.

As part of the dialogue, Eldik Bank also held bilateral meetings with international partners to discuss prospects for cooperation and opportunities to attract investment in the sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
