Eldik Bank Hosts the 22nd Meeting of the SCO Interbank Consortium Council in Cholpon-Ata

On July 2, 2026, the 22nd Meeting of the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Interbank Consortium (IBC) was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was organized by Eldik Bank OJSC in its capacity as the Chair of the SCO IBC Council.
Delegations from the Consortium’s member banks representing the Republic of India, the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Belarus, and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat, participated in the meeting.
The participants discussed key priorities for strengthening interbank cooperation, co-financing projects aimed at supporting the economic development of SCO member states, promoting sustainable finance and the green economy, and expanding partnership initiatives within the Organization.
One of the meeting’s key outcomes was the adoption of the SCO Interbank Consortium Medium-Term Development Strategy for 2027–2031. The Strategy outlines the Consortium’s priority areas and is designed to strengthen multilateral cooperation, support sustainable economic growth, and promote innovative financial solutions across SCO member states.
The Council also approved the Roadmap for Cooperation in ESG, Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Finance, which provides for closer collaboration among member banks in the field of sustainable development, the exchange of best practices, and the development of modern financial instruments.
During the meeting, participants also emphasized the importance of cooperation in professional training and knowledge exchange among the financial institutions of SCO member states. They highlighted the value of joint seminars, conferences, and educational programs aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of banking specialists.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening financial cooperation, expanding mutually beneficial partnerships, and implementing joint projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. The SCO Interbank Consortium (SCO IBC) was established on October 26, 2005, to facilitate the financing of joint investment projects, promote interbank cooperation, and strengthen economic ties among SCO member states.
The Consortium currently comprises the authorized financial institutions of the SCO member countries, including:
- China Development Bank (People’s Republic of China); VEB.RF State Development Corporation (Russian Federation);
- State Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan “Amonatbonk”;
- National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Development Bank of Kazakhstan; Habib Bank Limited (Islamic Republic of Pakistan);
- India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (Republic of India); Belarusbank OJSC (Republic of Belarus);
- Eldik Bank OJSC (Kyrgyz Republic).
From October 26, 2025, to October 25, 2026, Eldik Bank serves as the Chair of the SCO Interbank Consortium. In this capacity, the Bank coordinates the Consortium’s activities, hosts international delegations, and promotes initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation, advancing sustainable finance, and implementing joint development projects.
